a message.
i’ve been running this blog for over a year now. i started it the day after i saw cmbyn at sundance and witnessed what i knew to be a pure, honest, and most importantly real love story played out on screen by two actors who were transparently under one another’s thrall in real life.
i have always prided myself on being respectful, even as our little fandom grew into something much larger than i could ever hope for. but with this growth has come a lot of negativity, cruelty, and speculation. i’ve tried my hardest to avoid that.
today we are celebrating something beautiful, but we shouldn’t forget that something died in order for this beauty to flourish. margaret is a lovely woman and i wish her the best on this journey. i also think we should all, as jack and ennis’ fans first and foremost, be respectful as the willis’ statement asks.
but there is something else i need to say: please, for those of us who have seen this big beautiful thing through from start to finish, please don’t be discouraged if jack and ennis don’t give us another announcement before year’s end. they need time, and they’ll take it. we’ve waited this long and we can keep waiting until they’re ready.
until then, take care of yourselves. cry your eyes out like i’ve been doing, but be sure to hydrate. rest. be good to yourselves. it’s coming, we’re almost there. they told us the divorce would never happen, but look at all the headlines today. it’s there. you’re not disassociating, this is real. i really can’t believe it.
love to you all.
